See “Let’s Get Started” below for Insurance and private pay options.

Discover all of who you are and the healing you deserve, on a personal level.

Small lifestyle shifts can positively influence genes and cell regeneration that support well-being. I help people who are not at health levels they desire; despite age, condition and their great efforts.

At your first session we will look at your story, lifestyle and goals. We will “connect the dots” between symptoms, conditions and lifestyle. We will create a sustainable flexible plan. You will have an opportunity to practice a mind-body medicine process to relax into your healing mindset. We will create unique lifestyle modifications based on options that resolve symptoms and support goals.

Food and lifestyle impact everything in the Functional Medicine (FM) Tree that represents the body. Below surface root causes contribute to above ground conditions. Supported roots = a supported life = restored health.

“The biggest stressors for humans are emotional ones. The biggest stress of all is trying to be who you are not.”

— Dr. Hans Selye 1907-1982 Founder of “The Stress Theory”

Mind-Body Connections.

I provide tools for patients to transform stress into resilience and strength.

Our mental and spiritual health affect how we think, feel, act and respond to stressful events and really “everything” in life. At the root of imbalanced health is unresolved and misunderstood “trauma”, which is stored in the body from unresolved human experiences such as pain, confusion, anxiety, and grief. These “traumas’ are unique responses our experiences in our environmental, and to generational experiences passed down to us. Unresolved feelings and emotions are from events that occurred outside the body. If not revealed and processed; certain areas of restoration and health becomes elusive. Poor health is shaped by poor lifestyle choices which are rooted in thoughts, biochemistry and neurology. Complex process’s that we are equipped to release and restore.

Health transforms out of small changes that create lasting impact over time. Mind-body practices support life by enhancing awareness, self-care and finding your “window of tolerance” for change.

“Trauma is the invisible force that shapes our lives. It shapes the way we live, the way we love and the way we make sense of the world. It is the root of our deepest wounds.”

— Gabor Mate’ MD, best-selling author “The Myth of Normal”, and narrator of “The Wisdom of Trauma” documentary.

“Is the U.S. healthcare system expensive, complicated, dysfunctional, or broken? The simple answer is YES to all.”

“Mary Beth has a remarkable ability to draw on complex knowledge of digestive and organs individually, and with each other, and apply that clearly to help individuals benefit. She connects to her clients in an effective way that I have rarely experienced, has deep spiritual sensitivity and welcomed me, making sharing a pleasure. I resolved digestion and gallbladder imbalances, gained physical/emotional energy and enhanced food purchasing and prep.  I have tremendous respect for Mary Beth.”

Important Considerations when seeking Functional Nutrition Services

Ensure you are working with a qualified credentialed professional. They should ☆ be a credentialed health care provider (RD, CDN) who follows a code of ethics, and who has a ☆ national &/or ☆state nutritionist licensure/certification; ☆ If they specialize is an area of nutrition practice, look for the completion of a professionally accredited training which includes testing-out to acquire a credential in Integrative and Functional Nutrition (IFNCP), and has a ☆ Nutrition Degree(s). They should have experience in clinical settings where application, learning and practice occur. Credentialed healthcare providers are required to remain current in practice by completing professional “Continual Education Units” and training throughout their practicing career.

☆ New York State is one of four states that does not regulate dietitian or nutritionist licensure. A NY State certification for dietitians/nutritionists allows for those certified, AND those that are not certified, to offer nutrition advice, make clinical recommendations and charge for such services. Dietitians can additionally apply for insurance credentialing which, if approved, allows them to offer insurance covered services.

Female with Long-term Chronic Conditions

For decades I battled GI, blood pressure, cholesterol and over-weight conditions. Mary Beth was very calming from the get go, and assured me I was moving in the right direction, but needed to tweak a few things. I loved the breath-work she offers. It was peaceful, increased my awareness and enhanced my acceptance of this work. Mary Beth reviewed MD notes, test results, factored in my mental health, daily lifestyle, provided new insights and info that even raised my eyebrows. Following her recommendations, I gained positive results within days, and this has enhanced. This is manageable and sustainable lifestyle change and I feel my best !   I can’t express enough how thankful I am that I found Mary Beth !                                                                                                 — Nicole Nawot
