During the C-19 epidemic, the increase levels of global stress, and that which I experienced in my work with clients, led me to deeper training in mind-body medicine. This work included generational trauma, which we all inherit from unresolved generational patterns of the mind. If unattended, this can cloud ones identity, block healing and negatively impact any area of life.
When we experience stressful frightening events that are challenging to cope with, we are left with a natural stress or trauma response in our bodies that “needs attention”. This is part of the human condition and it is unique for each person. Some people have repeated years and decades of these events that led to PTSD, a much more common diagnosis then people understand. Yet, one that can be resolved and bring an individual more connected to who they truly are and to what their “ purpose” is.
The areas of any mental health challenge such as addictions, PTSD, depression and anxiety are all rooted in trauma. It is not what happens to you; it is what happens inside you, as a result of what happens to you. It is not the blow to the head, but the concussion. It is not the physical abuse or wars, but the unresolved internal and emotional pain as a result of them. It is not the untimely death, divorce, poverty or addictions that are commonly experienced, but how these experiences impact the body as a result of them. Working with groups and trained professionals will positively help process and impact ones health and life. Professional training and personal work in these areas allowed me to better understand how I can significantly support or hinder restoration, health and vitality.
